Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Grease (“we”, “us”) collects when a garage uses our software, and how we handle it. We follow India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. This page is a plain-language summary — for anything specific, write to us at sales@greases.app.

What we collect

• When you enquire: the name, WhatsApp number and garage name you enter in our demo form, so we can set you up.
• When you use Grease: your garage’s operational data — job cards, customers and vehicles you add, parts, invoices and payments, and photos your team captures.
• Your customers’ details: the names, vehicle and WhatsApp numbers you record so estimates, invoices and reminders can be sent. You are responsible for having a basis to share these with us.

How we use it

To run the service you asked for: creating job cards, sending WhatsApp estimates and reminders on your behalf, generating GST invoices, and keeping your account working. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your customers’ contact details for our own marketing.

Where it lives and how long we keep it

Each garage’s data is isolated from every other garage. Because GST invoices must be auditable, we retain invoicing records for the statutory period (up to eight financial years). You can ask us to export or delete your data at any time; we honour deletion requests except where the law requires us to retain specific records.

WhatsApp

Grease connects to your own WhatsApp number to message your own customers about their own jobs. Messages are sent through WhatsApp and are subject to WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy practices.

Your rights

You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and withdraw consent, by contacting us. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
